I would like to thank RitaGS for most of this news

ABS & J are HOT: Both Abs and J rated highly in 'Heat' magazine's yearly poll of the hottest guys in the UK. The only other person in music above them was Robbie Williams. J was #11 and Abs was #12...
Said the magazine about J at #11:'The pop world's been a less chiselled place since Five split up and J announced he was retiring from showbiz. But what else is a man that good-looking supposed to do other than entertain us? He'll be back, we're sure of that!'
About Abs at #12: 'Abs isn't your classic kind of hunk, but he's got the kind of mischevious face that would stop a woman at 20 paces. Sporting a fine line in trainers and baggy trews, he's showbiz's sexiest wide (cheeky, flashy guy from the EastEnd) boy since Brian Harvey.'

NEWS

Abs and Scott (from Five) were both invited to be on hand at the Virgin Megastore in Oxford St, London on 13 March for the European Launch of the new XBOX video game console (by Microsoft). It was the first time the lads had seen each other in a few months and they had a great time catching up on each other's news as well as drooling on their own free XBOX's... both are avid video gamers. As Abs prepares to launch his own solo recording career, Scott has been on the air at Essex FM radio as a DJ/co-host of the HOT 30 CountDown every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7-10pm since 5 March. You can go to 5iveUSA's Essex Fm page to find all the info on Scott, new pix and get links to hear him LIVE on the web every week. Maybe Abs will drop in on his old friend once he releases his first single...

On Wednesday, February 27th, MTV UK
made a quick announcement saying that Abs' new single was coming out in March/April (Well, it COULD be April!) and said the title of it was "A New Beginning". The official word from both of Abs' managers is 'RUBBISH!' Abs made a joke last year about singing with UK popper Stephen Gately and the title of Gately's last single WAS 'A New Beginning'... Look for an REAL announcement very soon on Abs' first release.

ABS is currently recording & remixing his solo material (mostly in Dublin, Ireland) and working non-stop with weekend time off to relax and do a few DJing gigs. He is almost done in the studio and still hopes to release his first single world-wide in the next few months. The wheels are turning and the promotion machine is gearing up... stay tuned!

Abs and Ruth Scott from 2Fm< < < IRELAND:
Abs made a very surprise appearance at the end of the show with his mates from Westlife and Blue at the Childline 2002 concert at Dublin's The Point on Sunday night, Jan 27th. The sold-out mass concert to raise funds for the children's charity also featured S Club 7, A1 and local Irish groups. Dublin radio station 2Fm's Ruth Scott got a quick interview with our lad backstage

ABS was a guest on C-BBC's 'The Saturday Show' on 15 & 29 December. The show itself is a bit silly but ABS was his usual crazy self: taping Noel Hear'Say to a giant straw donkey in a present wrapping contest, pretending to fall asleep while co-host Dani Behr asked his opinion on some of the current music, and complaining about the non-working gumball machine on the guest's table. During the wrapping contest, Abs jumped up on a table to easier wrap the donkey and gave everyone a good view of his always-exposed underwear, all the while sticking his bum in the face of co-host Joe. Gotta love him! . On Dec 29th, Abs had a lot more to do and was rolling his eyes at the silliness of it all. He judged a Five karaoke contest, did several very naff skits and talked for a bit about his future recording plans.

ABS IN AUSTRALIA: Our lad ABS was Down Under as the TV host of the two huge RUMBA festival concerts in Melbourne & Sydney and to promote Five's current releases. He was the special guest DJ and the MC of the huge Rumba After-Party in Sydney too. You can hear ABS talk to Hot30 radio in OZ (in WMP) about Five and himself and the future. Abs chatted to Rove, Hot Hits, Hot 30 Radio, 2Day FM, Fox FM, Channel V's Music Bus, Smash Hits and lots more. Listen to his great radio interview on NovaFM 96.9 in Sydney on the Media Page . A busy lad indeed! He was also a charming generous lad, as we have been hearing from all the lucky Aussie fans who have met him and were the recipients of his hugs, autographs and cheery attitude. We hear that he had quite a time hanging out with the boys from the UK group BLUE and performed a song with them on-stage at the Sydney Rumba. Even J rung his old buddy to see what was going on down there! Abs & his road manager, John P, exclusively sent us lots of Abs pictures while he was in OZ and they are on the Picture Page.

MORE ABS ...
Abs recorded two little videos for BMG Australia on Sunday, Nov 25, while he was at their offices to pick up an award for Five's album sales.

AND
Abs did a really funny & long  radio interview with the morning DJs at FoxFm in Melbourne. You can listen to it in WMP at their website FoxFM... use the menu and go to DJ's - Tracy & Matt - sights & sounds. The site is really hard to load and takes forever, but the interview is great.
AND even more Abs... you can read his interview from i17 Entertainment on the Media Page and here are the four video clips that go along with it.

AND MORE ABS!
Saved the best for last... a two part interview from THE EDGE radio in Wellington, NZ done on the phone with Abs the day he left OZ, 25 Nov 2001. This is really funny, a bit raunchy and Abs stretches the truth a little in his own crazy fashion. Listen to them on the MEDIA PAGE.
